In their Joint Statement Energy Ministers of G8 countries, The People’s Republic of China, India and The Republic of Korea, issued on 8 June 2008 (Aomori, Japan) welcomed the positive outcome of the IEF held in Rome in April 2008. They encouraged the IEF “to swiftly build on this outcome, delivering a programme of activities that drive shared analysis by producer and consumer countries” and invited the IEF to report progress with the work programme in 2009. They also committed to full participation in the Joint oil Data Initiative (JODI). See the G8 Statement.
